Always Believe

"Fifty-two years. Longest Title drought of any major U.S. city. Game 7 was the chance to end that misery. A chance to be the first ever to come back from a 3-1 deficit... Knotted up at 89-89 with under two minutes to play, the opposition's fast break appeared to be history repeating itself... LeBron had a different ending in mind as he came out of nowhere—"The Block"—a physics defying play that changed Cleveland sports forever. The fulfillment of LeBron's promise was closer than ever, but the game was still tied. Enter Kyrie Irving. The sticky-handled guard who gets buckets had prepared for this moment. The possession was his and his alone. Down went the dagger 3. When the final buzzer sounded and the team erupted in celebration; the world could now understand. The victory was more than a title. It was the culmination of a fifty-two year struggle. It was redemption. It was destiny."

Sneaker Con Bay Area

Sneaker Con | May 2nd | Richmond, CA
Sneaker-heads get ready to go off. Sneaker Con is coming to the Bay Area on May 2nd. The Craneway Pavilion in Richmond will be the temporary home of the greatest sneaker show earth. Save your loot and prepare to see the kicks of your dreams. The event runs from 11am-6pm. You can get more information here.

Whether you're a hooper, runner, or just like mobbing in the latest and greatest, this event is sure to have the freshest selections. Had I not already copped a pair of the "Hare" Jordan 1, I'd be there. Enjoy.

Who's the Baddest?

KD7 - "Global Game" - 08.02.14
Kevin Durant was this season's NBA MVP. He's led the Association in scoring four times, won an Olympic gold medal, and was Rookie of the Year. Today marked the launch of his latest signature sneaker, the KD7. Initially there will be five colorways released. The first to drop will be the USA-inspired color scheme—you can score them tomorrow. The other names thus far are 35K Degrees (July 12), Global Games (pictured above), Calm Before the Storm (August 16), and Easy Money (September 6). If the KD6 is any indication, there will be a plethora of other design options released throughout the calendar year. Nike has always been at the forefront of developing high-end athletic apparel technologies. They also know how to run an ad campaign. Accompanying the kicks is a bad-ass new commercial featuring cameos from George Gervin, Chris Mullin, Charles Oakley, and comedian/activist Dick Gregory. I especially dig the commercial's reference that bad is good. The NBA may have just wrapped up, but basketball never stops. I'm bound to lace up a pair of these sneaks. Thanks for keeping it fresh, KD and Nike.

Just Do It

The NBA is less than 24 hours away, I'm stoked for tomorrow. Until then, Nike & LeBron.

This Commercial is golden. What a great idea. Only in the NBA!
