Lagunitas Live

Lagunitas Brewing in Petaluma is primed for another awesome season of free outdoor concerts. Recently they released their schedule of events—it's pretty amazing. Peep the list to the left.

Trampled By Turtles kick off the 2015 lineup and unfortunately, tickets are already gone. But there's plenty more to see if you're social media savvy. I suggest checking in on Facebook of the artist(s) you're most interested in seeing to get ticket information.

The super secret show is usually rad. No one knows who it is, even after acquiring tickets—you just have to take a chance. Last year Lucius played an outstanding secret show.

Hanni El Khatib, Shovels & Rope, and Charles Bradley with his Extraordinaries, are the performers you should not miss. See you at the Lagunitas mini amphitheater.

J. Roddy Walston & the Business

The Business is a rocking band led by J. Roddy Walston. They will be tackling the subdued crowd at the Lagunitas mini-amphitheatre on Monday, July 14th. Those in attendance better get ready for some loud riffs. If Jerry Lee Lewis and Slash had made a record it might sound like these guys. They have recorded three albums thus far. Their self-titled released was the one that first grabbed my attention. This rowdy bunch is sure to give it to the Lagunitas crowd in Petaluma. I'm super stoked to see these guys. Below is a track from their latest effort, Essential Tremors. See ya there.

Lagunitas Concert Series

Lagunitas Live Music | 2014
The Lagunitas Brewing Company recently released their live concert series schedule and it has some hot dates. I for one will definitely try to grab tickets to a few; The Wood Brothers on June 30th, J. Roddy Walston & the Business is a can't miss on July 14th, and the Foxygen show on August 4th should be awesome. There's nothing better than a beautiful northern California early evening, spent outdoors listening to live music, and sipping on a cold draught from a mighty fine brewery. I'll do my best to acquire the free tickets. Give yourself a better chance of securing tickets by checking each band's social media outlets, as well as, the Lagunitas Brewery, for any advanced information. Knowing when tickets are released is your best shot at attending due to the intimate capacity of this beer/music hybrid venue.

For a better look at the list: 5.26 The Revivalists | 6.2 Pimps of Joytime | 6.16 Tumbleweed Wanderers | 6.30 The Wood Brothers | 7.1 Allen Stone | 7.8 David Mayfield Parade | 7.14 J. Roddy Walston & the Business | 8.4 Foxygen | 8.11 TBA | 9.1 Blues Fest TBA | 9.8 Shakey Graves | 9.16 James McMurtry | 9.23 TBA

Who goes there..? Owls, that's who!

Those fortunate enough to have seen a Pygmy Owl know how awesome they are. They might be itty bitty but they're still at the top of the food chain. In our neck of the woods we also have some resident Barn Owls, as well as, a nesting Great Horned Owl couple who have had owlets in the past. Recently I was shown this video, hopefully you find it as amusing as I did. So, here's to the silent fliers within the world of raptors and birds of prey. Here at the Watertrough Project we're big fans of owls.

We're also fans of beer. I recommend sipping on a Pygmy Owl itty bitty IPA by Big Sky Brewing this summer. It's a tasty session-style IPA and right up there with Go To by Stone Brewing. Those of us in Sonoma get the goods, Dribble by Russian River and Day Time by Lagunitas. Thankfully I'm blessed and inundated with high quality brews, the raw beauty of nature, and its wonderful creatures.
